Dear Friends of Dance,
In the summer scenery of one of the most popular spas of Poland, the Ladek Zdroj Spa, in a stunningly beautiful Klodzko Valley, since eleven years it has been taking place the International Dance Festival Ladek Ballet Summer. The festival has been continuously gaining recognition, and over the years became more and more popular both in Poland and abroad as an event of great artistic, educational, touristic as well as recreational value for DANCE enthusiasts regardless of their age.
This year, we invite you for the 12th edition of one weeks-long participating and interacting with art, fun, dance, and joy in the sunny Ladek Zdroj during our International Dance Festival XII Ladek Summer Ballet.
The initiator of this festival is the esteemed promoter of Polish opera and ballet, Slawomir Pietras a director of leading Polish opera scenes in Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, and Wroclaw. He has initiated this event in close cooperation with the mayor of Ladek Zdroj, Mr.Adam Szmidt, and he continues to serve as a patron and great advocate. Our patron is also present mayor of Ladek Zdroj Kazimierz Szkudlarek.
Thanks to the engagement of our American partner, Mr. Jerzy Golek, a president of the Cultural Interchanges and a dance instructor from Pennsylvania, USA, in the past years the festival has become a truly international event. The instructors and young dancers from The United States and various European countries have begun travelling to Ladek Zdroj and taking an active part in the festival.
For the one weeks in July, Ladek Zdroj becomes the dance center of the whole of Poland gathering thousands of dance passionates and enthusiasts. Samba mixes with funky, hip-hop with the belly dance, and all mixes with the ballet and contemporary dances. The workshops offer more than 40 different dance styles; during dance evenings, one can see special-character and modern dances as well.
The participating instructors are of international and intercultural mix. They include professionals from various places in Poland and from all over the world.
They present the highest artistic level and are driven by their love for dance. Among others, they are: prof. Teresa Memches, Poland (the classical dance); Ewa Glowacka, Poland, (ballet repertoire); Beata Wrzosek-Dopierala, Poland (classical and contemporary dance); Michelle Jones-Wurtz, USA, (broadway jazz dance); Alexandr Azarkevitch, (contemporary dance); Ricardo Marques, Brazil (capoeira); Ruta Kambli, India (Indian dance); Alassane Wat, France (funky); Alba Holder, Cuba (salsa cubana), Edison Ribeiro de Lima, Brazil (clubbing Latino dance; Eric Alira, Burkina Faso (afro); Piotr Piotrowski, Poland (flamenco); Lukasz Slaniewski and Barbara Zielinski, Poland (salsa, hip-hop); Robert Nieznanski, Poland (break dance); Marcus Tucker, USA, (hip-hop), Rosa Olympia Estrella, Spain, (flamenco), Robin Colter, USA, (American Contemporary), and many more
As usually, in Ladek Zdroj you can expect plenty of attractions and possibilities related to dance. They include performances of professional ballet ensembles, evenings with young choreographers and concerts that are based on performances of most talented workshops participants.
The International Dance Festival XII Ladek Ballet Summer is the next occasion for meeting in the group of dance enthusiasts and spending time in an active way in the land of spa and delightful climate of Klodzko Valley.
